Owl pillow in plaid!

Here is the owl pillow I made for my dad for Christmas. The body is from an old red plaid skirt, the ears and eyelids are from an old pair of pants and the beak is an old shoulder pad!

The sock rabbits all finished!

Here are the sock bunnies all done!

Sock rabbits in the works!

So-here are two of the dolls from the other day, now stuffed and with their arms sewn on. There are pipe cleaners in their ears for easy bending and moving. Faces will be next! :D

Christmas tree dotee!

Here is my Christmas tree dotee for a swap on Swap-bot! I used lots of different materials and mediums to create this! The back is green wool with white rick rack trim. The front has google eyes, flat backed rhinestones, green rick rack, felt heart shapes, beads, a broken earring, a broken french horn charm (the loop broke off, so I sewed it on the dotee), a glittery gold pipe cleaner, and a real tiny jingle bell!
I hope my swap partner will like it! :D

More than just dolls and monkeys! :D
Step 1:Your basic ankle sock.

Step 3: the same sock with the cuff cut off and a long slit cut from heel to toe.
Save the cuffs! They make great hair ties! :D

More papertube crafting!

Here are some tp tubes and a pt tube, painted white and ready for the next step!
The same tubes laid on their sides and gently flattened.

A close-up showing how I marked .5" inch marks and the cut them up.
Piles of "petals"!

Flowers! (Or stars,or snowflakes!)
The ones that are white on the inside as well were cut from the tp tubes.I could reach in and paint them before cutting them up.
The pt tubes were just too long to "pre paint" on the inside. No problem, though. They are easy to do now! :D

Upycling tubes!

I have started working with upcycled toilet paper tubes and paper towel tubes! They are so much fun and easy to work with!
The top photo shows a wall art piece in progress.A few coats of black acrylic paint makes it look rather like cast iron from a distance!
Then you see closeups of black and white painted flowers/stars/snowflakes in progress.
I've started a swap on swap-bot for these and am teaching a class at my workplace (a group home) on them as well. It's going to be lots of fun for everyone! :D

Butterflies totebag #2 !

This bag is totally upcycled/recycled!

The fabric on the outside used to be a pillowcover until an unfortunate accident involving first a cat and then the washing machine.

The inside lining is from a vintage pillowcover.

The handles are reclamed from an old totebag that fell apart.

The bottom insert is made from a pair of old twill pants!

Yvette and Yolande!

Yvette!

Yolande!

Yvette and Yolande together!

I made these two up from one pair of socks in bright yellow, black, orange and fuschia. I love the socks;but they would not fit my long feet!

I added yarn hair (long and curly/wavy like my own!),big, fuschia felt lips and black and yellow button eyes.

I can only tell them apart because Yvette is a tiny bit taller than her sister!
